My Thoughts on …

Tis the season to be jolly.  Fa la la la la, la la la la

Yep, I put it out there.  No harm in singing Christmas tunes, or in my case, humming them. LOL

Though, I’m going to start a little bit of a debate right now.  Weather I’m on facebook, or twitter, I see postings of pictures like  “It’s Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays.”  My question,, what’s the difference?  To me it all means the same thing.  I’m not against anyone’s religion, that’s not the reason for this, but I don’t get the difference.

I’ll say Merry Christmas.  I’ll also say Happy Holidays.  Every so often I’ll say, Season’s Greetings.  Sometimes I’ll write down, Merry Xmas.  I know that one drives many people nuts.  For me, it’s shorter to write out then the proper way.  And if you’ve seen my hand writing, you’d say the same thing. LOL

I’m not by any means taking Christ out of Christmas by saying Merry Xmas, I’m just not that religious.  I don’t need saving.  I believe what I believe, and weather that’s what’s written in the bible, or the evolution aspect, that’s just me.

But that’s just me and my thoughts.  I’d like to hear yours.  So feel free to comment below as to your thoughts and feelings on this matter.  However, I will NOT accept comments that’s putting others down.  I only want to hear your thoughts on this one.

Until next time,

Karen

  1. I’m not sure why people have a problem with Xmas. “X” is the greek letter the denotes Christ. “X” was a way the early Christians referred to Christ. Most Christians know this.
Holidays literally mean “Holy Days”, so that shouldn’t be a problem for people either.

(and by the way the bible does not contradict evolution for many Christians, it’s not really a dichotomy)
